Western Health’s ‘Training Requirements Procedure‘ outlines the mandatory, mandatory (specialist), foundational and discretionary training requirements for staff working at Western Health as per the Australian Council of Health Services requirements and in line with the WH policy: Learning and Development.

The accountability for mandatory training and competency assessments occurs at five levels:

  1. The Education & Research Committee
  2. Best Care Committees
  3. The Manager in each area
  4. The employee
  5. Educators and Trainers

Related Best Care Committees monitor the organisational staff engagement/compliance rates of NSQHS Standard aligned mandatory, mandatory (specialist) and foundational training programs outlined in WH ‘Training Requirements Procedure‘.

This monitoring is supported by mandatory training dashboards and from 12 February 2023 new mandatory (specialist) and foundational training dashboards. Click here to view the QRG supporting use of the dashboards.

Click on the following headings to view monthly organisational training reports drawn from the training dashboards. These have been generated for use by WH’s NSQHS Standard aligned Committees. Staff member names have been removed from these reports for confidentiality reasons.

The live dashboards can also be displayed at meetings by ‘Fab 5’ Members on these Committees with permissions to view org-wide data.
