  • Early Medical Abortion of Pregnancy: An information evening for GPs, practice managers, nurses and pharmacists – 6.30pm, June 28th 2022

    Are you a GP, practice manager, nurse or pharmacist? Women’s Health In the North, GenWest, the Royal Women’s Hospital and the North Western Melbourne PHN invite you to attend an online Early Medial Abortion information session.

    Early medical abortion is the preferred method of induced abortion of nearly 50% of women worldwide who experience unwanted pregnancy. The procedure is safe, effective and legal. However, despite the legal status of abortion in Victoria there remains limited access to early medical abortion.

    The session will include:

    • An overview of training requirements for providing early medical abortion
    • An update on early medical abortion procedures
    • Practice experiences, and support and referral pathways for GPs and nurses who currently provide or are motivated to provide early medical abortion.

  • Maximise your tax donations today

    Make your donation before 30 June

    Every day we provide health care to people in the hospital and in the community. But we know that patient care doesn’t just happen in the hospital.

    This tax appeal, we’re fundraising to provide care packs to patients to help them when they need it most.

    Donations can help to;

    • Provide clothing and essential items to an injured and scared patient who can’t return to an unsafe home – so they can seek emergency accommodation
    • Provide someone facing cancer with a pack of items – that will help them with the side effects of their treatment
    • Provide a hip guard to protect an elderly patient who is at high risk of a fall – to prevent them from severely hurting themselves and avoid a lengthy hospital admission

    Donate today WHF | Give back this tax time | Western Health Foundation (whfoundation.org.au)

    All donations over $2 are tax deductible
