An exciting grant opportunity is now open to Western Health staff, courtesy of funds raised through the new Women for Western Health Giving Circle.

The Giving Circle is a Western Health Foundation program that brings together like-minded individuals who each donate a minimum $1000, pooling their donations to increase their philanthropic impact.

Members have raised a total of $57,000 that is now available as a grant opportunity to Western Health staff. Applicants must complete and submit the Expression of interest application form by 5pm 18 May.

Shortlisted applicants will be asked to present their proposals to members of the Giving Circle at a pitch and voting night in the week beginning 20 June, with the winner announced that evening.

Applications can be for services, equipment, research or investment in our staff but emphasis is on new, innovative activities that are not already funded through usual Western Health budgets. All proposals are welcome; however, it is worth noting that a recent poll of Giving Circle members revealed that their top three areas of interest are: supporting services that make a difference to the health of women in the community, supporting multicultural and Indigenous communities, and supporting female-led clinical teams in their applications.

Individual or teams must seek approval from their line managers and directors before submitting applications. Grant funds must be spent and the impact or outcome delivered by May 2023.

More information about the grant opportunity is available at the Western Health Foundation website. Completed EOIs must be submitted to foundation@wh.org.au by 5pm 18 May.

This new grant opportunity is a fantastic investment by a large number of people committed to supporting the improvements and innovations we would like to make here at Western Health. I would like to encourage all teams to consider applying.
