Thank you to everyone who attended Western Health’s first Family Fun Day at Flemington Racecourse last Sunday.

It was fantastic to see more than 1,000 employees and their families come together to connect outside of the workplace and celebrate with singing, dancing and dining.

One of my fellow executives shared some feedback that they received from a staff member, which I thought captured the overarching sentiment of the day.

“My kids had a fantastic time and the day epitomised for me all that is great about Western Health.”

Thank you again to everyone who made the day such a great occasion and a special thank you to the team behind the scenes who got this event off the ground, it was a huge success!

Festive fever almost upon us

Now that December is almost upon us, you’ll start to see some festive cheer spread around our sites, including: Christmas trees, decorations and visits from our furry friends from Lort Smith Animal Pet Therapy.

To show our gratitude to staff for their incredible efforts over the past year, we’ll be hosting a series of special end of year thank you lunches during December. There is also a special Spirit of Christmas Competition on the Westerly.

There were so many great entries, making it a difficult decision for the judging panel, but the winners are:

Footscray ED won the main prize – the Gorman Scrubs (pictured to the right)

The judging panel said their post captured the essence of: “celebrating our values and positive working culture through sustained positive behaviour via a self-incentivised program.”

Other prizes went to:

JKWCH Pharmacy, for maintaining positivity and continuing their focus on patients.

SH Pharmacy, the judging panel said that “these stars realise that people need a hand at different times to lift each other up.”

3F, for showing resilience and maintaining positivity while focusing on purpose.

A spooky spectacular on show

It was wonderful to these incredible Halloween costumes on display on a pop-up catwalk at the Western Health Braybrook Corporate Campus last month. The Digital Health and Finance teams are now co-located at this site and they took the initiative to have a staff dress up competition for Halloween.

It was a great way to help to build and foster a sense of fun and togetherness.  Congratulations on this initiative and thank you for sharing it on the Westerly staff pinboard.

Is your team finding new ways to connect and foster a great culture? We’d love to showcase your efforts, please post it on the staff pinboard.
