A quick update from me this week – it is pleasing to report the upcoming opening of our new Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs (MHAOD) Hub at Sunshine Hospital Emergency Department.
Opening of the Hub in Sunshine Hospital Emergency Department
Clinical operations in the Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs (MHAOD) Hub at Sunshine Hospital Emergency Department commence this Monday 5 September. This is the final milestone in the expansion of MHAOD clinical spaces within Sunshine Hospital Emergency Department. The Hub is designed to provide best care for patients with lower acuity mental health, alcohol or other drugs needs and includes a dedicated outreach service.
Training and orientation continues for all staff who work and volunteer in Sunshine Hospital’s Emergency Department and we encourage all staff to familiarise themselves with the new clinical area.

Sunshine Hospital staff COVID testing clinic no longer operating on weekends
A reminder that the Sunshine COVID testing clinic is no longer operating on weekends. Opening hours are now Monday to Friday 8.45am-4.45pm.
