Organisational Development Consultant

Tell us a little bit about your career trajectory so far.

I’ve come from a background in education – I was finishing up a Masters of Education when I was asked to work for TAFE, working in Continuous Improvement. After 3 years of collaborating with staff to improve processes, and designing and implementing educational resources and tools to support organisational continuous improvement– this opportunity came up at Western Health, and it just sounded too meaningful and exciting to pass up!

You are relatively new to Western Health, what have been your observations about our approach to wellbeing?

I’m loving the proactive approach to wellbeing at Western Health – providing staff with tools and techniques to manage their own and others wellbeing, as well as providing the language to have important conversations around mental health and wellbeing – which is so important after the stress and burnout a lot of us are feeling after the last 2 years.

What do you hope to achieve over the next 6-12months in your new role?

I’m looking forward to working with our team to review the results from surveys that are being conducted (Pulse; People at Work; People Matter) and looking at these results with staff, to collaborate on what strategies can be implemented to help improve staff wellbeing at work.

I am motivated to… make other people feel they can finish the day having learnt something new, had a positive outcome or that they’ve finished on a high!

When I have a setback Iask for help! Sometimes you just need fresh eyes to reframe and re-engage.

When I’m feeling stressed or overwhelmed by work I…. go for a long walk, swim or yoga session (helps to clear my mind!)

When people ask me what I do for a job, I tell them… my role is all about caring for our people – working with staff to help look after themselves and others through developing programs and strategies to support their safety, health and wellbeing at work.
