Who is affected: Sunshine Hospital all Staff
Works to commence: 3 pm SATURDAY 15 JULY
Scheduled completion: 5 pm SUNDAY 16 JULY
Vehicle and pedestrian access to the hospital, excluding Emergency Department, via Majorca Street will be blocked from Camara Avenue due to roadworks. Western Health staff will have pedestrian access to the hospital via Central Avenue and the main hospital entrance off Furlong Road.
Vehicles will have the following conditions for the duration of the works:
- No access to the Executive Car Park.
- The access and exit routes of Car Parks 1, 2, the Multi Deck car park as well as AMHRU and Dialysis will only be via Furlong Road for staff and visitors.
Clinical Risk: Low
Contingency: Traffic management will be positioned in multiple locations (see map) to assist vehicle and pedestrian access to the hospital. Signage to facilitate detours will be installed in multiple locations. A large video display sign providing advance notice of the disruption will be on Majorca Street from Tuesday 11 July.
A car park attendant will be at Furlong Road boom gates from 3pm – 10pm on Saturday and 6am – 5pm on Sunday to allow access for staff that have already paid for staff parking. Works are being undertaken outside peak traffic hours to minimise disruption.
Emergency vehicle access to SAAPU will be maintained at all times. All noisy works will cease by 10pm on Saturday 15 July.
Staff will be available at the Main Hospital Entrance and the Joan Kirner Entrance to take visitors to SAAPU.
Vehicle and pedestrian access to SHED and Loading Dock will not be impacted. Pedestrian access to portables and Westside Lodge will not be
impacted.
