Dear All,

Please be advised that there are only just over 2 weeks remaining until the completion of the 2023 Western Health Free Flu Vaccination Campaign. Annual flu vaccination is legally mandatory for all Category A & B staff.

Whilst you have up until August to get vaccinated, Western Health’s free flu vaccination program for 2023 will cease on 30 June 2023.

Any Category A or B staff that have not received their mandatory flu vaccination through Western Health’s free program by 30 June 2023 will be required to get the vaccine via their General Practitioner or local Pharmacy at their own expense.

If you still require your vaccination and would like to make an appointment, please ring our Flu Vaccination mobile numbers Monday to Friday 7am to 2pm – Sunshine 0481 468 586 or Footscray 0481 468 585.

We have also been offering all Western Health staff the option of receiving a COVID vaccination booster through this program. This will also cease on 30 June 2023. After this date, staff will need to receive their COVID vaccination booster via their General Practitioner or local Pharmacy.

If you have a medical exemption request relating to the flu vaccination program, your request is required to be reviewed and approved by the Western Health Medical Review Panel. Please submit the relevant documentation to pccbusinesspartners@wh.org.au. This request should include a letter from the staff member’s treating medical practitioner along with their Australian Immunisation Statement showing any applicable contraindications.

If you have received your flu vaccination elsewhere you need to complete the Influenza Immunisation Survey.

If you are declining, please complete the Influenza Immunisation declination form.

Managers can monitor their cost centre MAP reports and are requested to please follow up any staff who have not yet received their mandatory vaccination and any staff declinations.
