In preparation for the opening of the newly constructed Sunshine Mental Health and Wellbeing Centre (SMHWC) in October 2023, there is important information to note regarding ward names and contact details within our mental health services.
The existing Aged Persons Mental Health unit (SAPMHU), Adult Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit (APMHRU), Adult Acute Inpatient Unit (SAAPU) and new Mental Health Units at Sunshine will be named as per below:

All site wayfinding signs both internally and externally will be updated to reflect new names.
The two new adult acute units within the Sunshine Mental Health and Wellbeing Centre contain three care areas:
- Intensive Care Area (ICA)
- Medium Care Area (MCA)
- General Care Area (GCA).
