Dear colleagues,

Some fantastic milestones to celebrate this week. Nationally, 70 per cent of Australians 16 and older have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and Victoria is on track to hit its 70 per cent double dose target this Friday, which brings the end of lockdown in Melbourne and the easing of some restrictions. Excitingly, we also celebrated 1 million doses administered across the West Metro COVID-19 Vaccination Program.

Many thanks and enjoy your first weekend out of lockdown.

Regards,

Shane Crowe
Executive Director Nursing & Midwifery

1m dose milestone

I am so proud and delighted with the 1m milestone and my thanks goes to everyone involved in this extraordinary effort including our nurses, pharmacists, PSAs, cleaners, administrative staff, engineering, public affairs and others. It has been a months-long effort in which we’ve navigated challenges including vaccine supply, a health workforce under pressure and fast-changing directions from the state and federal governments. Thank you to all staff for their amazing agility and their further efforts over the coming weeks as we continue to provide protection to the community against COVID-19.

To celebrate this milestone, our Chief Executive Russell Harrison joined me in congratulating Lisa Smith and the COVID Vaccination team at our Sunshine Hub on Monday.
