It’s December and we all know what that means – it’s the festive season and time for us to get together with our colleagues to say thanks and have some fun!

It’s been another big year for everyone at Western Health. In September, we marked R U OK day with the launch of our expanded Peer Support Program. We were there to support and listen to each other.

The People Matter Survey has just ended, and more importantly, our leaders were out and about for Reflection and Recovery Week, where we wanted to hear more from the staff across Western Health. You all provided such wonderful feedback and responses. Thank you to those of you who filled in feedback cards, or had the opportunity to tell us more about your experience at Western Health.

Theming of all that we heard is underway, and we will share this with you in the coming weeks. Now it’s important to take some time out together, reflect on everything we’ve achieved and celebrate the end of another year.

You will have noticed Christmas decorations starting to appear across our sites, the Happy Christmas Company have been busy decking the halls and spreading Christmas cheer.

All staff are invited to our annual Christmas lunches, which begin across our sites next week. The dates are below, so mark your calendars! We’d love to see as many as you attending as possible. It is our way of recognising your hard work, saying ‘thank you’ and celebrating with you.

There will also be different entertainment at our sites, including our favourite furry friends from Lort Smith Pet Therapy, choirs and photo booths.

For our staff working on Christmas Day, we have a special treat in store for you so stay tuned for that.

Make sure during this holiday season, where possible, you take the opportunity to take some time out to rest and relax. Whether that’s spending time with family and friends, or enjoying that thing that makes you happy, recharge after what has been a very exciting, but challenging year.

I wish you all a safe and happy festive season, and look forward to celebrating with you over the coming weeks.

Best wishes,
