On Friday 12 November, the ‘virtual engagement room’ for the new Footscray Hospital (NFH) Project was launched.

Due to COVID, it hasn’t been possible for our NFH Project Team, the Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) and Plenary Health to meet face-to-face with the community to discuss our new hospital, share the designs and answer questions – as had been planned.

Instead, the creative team at VHBA has gone virtual, with a fantastic interactive site allowing anyone interested in the new Footscray Hospital to find out more online.

The virtual engagement room allows “visitors” to take a 3D tour of the hospital, view the designs, see interviews with the builders and follow construction milestones. It also features activities for the kids and a forum to have your questions answered.

We’re particularly excited about the ‘time capsule’ section. We have plans to place a time capsule – with items from the current Footscray Hospital – on site at the new Footscray Hospital, and we want your feedback. You’ll be able to submit your ideas in the dedicated ‘time capsule’ section on the virtual engagement room. We look forward to seeing what you come up with.

The virtual engagement room will remain open into 2022 and information will be updated as the project progresses. The site will also be accessible at Western Health’s New Footscray Hospital website: nfh.wh.org.au
