The Office for Research in partnership with the Western Health Foundation have facilitated the establishment of the Western Health Arlene Wake Chronic Disease Fellowship program. This Fellowship program is possible through a generous donation.

The primary purpose of the Arlene Wake Chronic Disease Fellowship program is to provide support to early career clinician researchers by supplementing their income for a maximum of 3 years whilst undertaking research toward a higher degree qualification.

We are pleased to announce that the 2023 EOI for the Arlene Wake Chronic Disease Fellowship is now officially open.

Please note that an additional Fellowship -Health Services Research Fellow is now available.  Please nominate on the EOI form the Fellowship category you are applying for.

All EOIs must be submitted by the closing date and time: Sunday 27 August, 11:59pm.

Each EOI must be emailed to whsgrants@wh.org.au with a Cc to bill.karanatsios@wh.org.au  Please insert email subject: Arlene Wake Fellowship EOI: <Applicant Name>

Late Submissions will not be accepted.

Successful EOIs will advance to the next stage of a full submission.

Other Important Dates:

  1. EOI Outcome notification to all applicants by 31 August
  2. Full Submissions Open 1 September and Close Sunday 24 September 11:59PM
  3. Successful submissions notified by 5 October that they have advanced to next stage –Presentation to panel of judges
  4. Presentations to be held on nominated day week of the 9 October in person at WCHRE SH. Date and time to be confirmed
  5. Arlene Wake Fellowship recipients to be announced 20 October.
