Western Health has released our new scrubs – check out the video! The new scrubs aim to promote a professional public image and foster a sense of belonging and pride among our nurses and midwives. It can also make it easier for members of the public to identify staff.

The new scrubs were designed in consultation with staff and consumers. Staff told us they wanted our scrubs to come in a greater variety of design and fit options, including various pocket combinations and different necklines and trouser styles. They also wanted to have the option of soft and wrinkle-free material that is easy-care.

The new scrubs come in four different colours to help patients identify some of the clinical professionals within our health service. Our nurses and midwives will be in ‘true navy’ blue. There is also the option to order an embroidered logo with the name of your profession on the new scrubs. The colours and embroidered logo aim to help identify professions and support a sense of belonging and pride.

How do I order the new scrubs?

Visit the staff intranet page to order your new scrubs. We recommend you view the Western Health Scrub Ordering Guide to help you complete your order. There are lots of different styles and options to suit your individual needs.

You can also order via the Airmed website.

Please check the sizing guide, as the sizes run small.

The ordering guide will help you select the right colour for your profession and the embroidered logo with the name of your profession.

Why do we need different colours for each professional group?

Whilst our nurses and midwives will have ‘true navy’ scrubs, other professions will be in different colours. Our doctors in black, allied health therapy in ‘Gibraltar blue’ and allied health sciences in khaki.

We asked our consumers and patients if they would prefer one colour or a range of colours to help them identify some of the different clinical professionals within our health service.

Most consumers told us they would prefer colour as a way that help them identify some of the health professionals that work within our health system.

Can I buy the colour that aligns with my profession, but not get the embroidery?

Yes, you can. The logo with your profession’s name is designed to further enhance our consumers’ ability to identify different health professionals within our health service. While it is encouraged to order embroidery, it’s not mandatory.
