The Australian Clinical Entrepreneur Program is open to clinicians, including nurses and midwives and is a subsidised and flexible program to gain the skills in clinical innovation and commercial expertise to change the future of healthcare.

Participants in the program combine their innovation activities and patient-facing work, improving job satisfaction and ultimately (by bringing their innovations to life) improving patient results. Results to date show that the program improves staff retention in their patient-facing roles. Innovations can be entrepreneurial (all patients with a specified condition) or intrapreneurial (process improvements within a particular unit or hospital).

The program provides the skills, networks and training to aspiring clinical innovators through focused training and industry events.

Over 12 months with AUSCEP, participants will experience

  • 8 Full-Day Workshops: in-person ‘pitstops’ over 12 months, with guest speakers offering valuable insights and practical frameworks to empower emerging innovators.
  • Mentoring & 1-1 Support: Personalised support and mentorship from a successful industry expert, plus an accountability squad to help you grow alongside peers.
  • Webinars: Covering topics from clinical entrepreneurship, customer discovery, digital health, venture capital myths, to data security, and more.

The program is led by MTPConnect and ASME, and supported by LaunchVic in Victoria.

Applications for the 2025/26 cohort in Victoria are now open, and close on 20 June 2025. The program commences on 19 August 2025.
