    The Western Bulldogs will be taking on Fremantle this Saturday (4.35pm, 6 August) at Marvel Stadium. Thanks to our generous sponsor Ecolab, you and three friends could be watching the match from the comfort of the Medallion Club box.

  • Western Bulldogs Complimentary Tickets

    The Western Bulldogs Community Foundation would like to extend an offer of complimentary tickets to upcoming Western Bulldogs home games at Marvel Stadium as a show of thanks for your tireless work protecting and caring for our community during the pandemic. To accommodate shift work, tickets are available to three different games.

    Once you have clicked on the link, select the number of tickets you would like and then click ‘Checkout’. (Please note that a limit of two tickets per person applies). You will then need to log in to your Western Bulldogs account or create a free one if you don’t have an existing account.

    Your tickets will then be ready to use.

    To access them, download the Western Bulldogs app from the App Store or Google Play Store.

  • INSPIRE Awards - now open for nominations

    Is there someone or a team at Western Health who has inspired you?

    The INSPIRE Awards recognise and celebrate those employees and volunteers who foster a positive workplace at Western Health and whose actions inspire others to live our values. They enable us to recognise and promote some of the great work being done by employees and volunteers at Western Health.

    Anyone can nominate:

    You can nominate online via the Inspire Award Internet site or you can complete a word version of the form which is available on the intranet and email it to inspire@wh.org.au

    Completing your nomination:

    Please ensure that you take the time to explain what the individual or team that you are nominating did which has made a difference to your experience or the experience of others.

    Provide examples in as much detail as you can of how they fostered a Positive Workplace at Western Health and demonstrated Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Safety in their work.

    (A minimum of 3 of the values must be addressed in your nomination).

    Please note that we may share what you say in your nomination as part of the Award Presentation process.

  • A new coffee dawns.. reusable cups are back in business at Western Health! Clean/dry cups accepted

    Reusable cups are now being accepted at cafe’s across Western Health sites!

    For infection prevention reasons, reusable cups will only be accepted provided they are clean and dry.

  • Expressions of interest sought for Clinical Reserves Unit

    The Department of Health has established a new Clinical Reserves Unit, comprising a team of nursing, medical and allied health clinicians who can be deployed short term to health services in rural and regional Victoria that have been significantly affected by a COVID-19 outbreak and workforce furloughing.

    Critical Reserves Unit Expression of Interest are now open for clinicians to nominate to be a member of the Clinical Reserves Unit. Members should be skilled and experienced clinicians in their area of practice, as well as individuals who can rapidly adapt to new settings. The Critical Reserves Unit will comprise a mix of senior and junior staff across medical, nursing and midwifery, and allied health professions.

    Nominating to be part of the Critical Reserves Unit is voluntary and members will be paid during their deployment. Any request for deployment will be negotiated by the Department of Health and will take in to account the needs of the health services releasing the staff.

  • New Telehealth WeLearn package

    Learn new tools for Telehealth video calls

    A new Telehealth WeLearn module is now available to help guide clinicians on how to use Healthdirect Video Call, and includes tips & tricks on conducting an efficient and safe Telehealth consultation.

    The aim of the module is to improve clinician confidence in using Video Call and conducting Telehealth consults, which will also lead to an improved clinician and patient experience.

    The learning module only takes 5-10 minutes to complete and will help clinicians get up and running with the basics of Telehealth quickly.

  • Elder Abuse training (DFFH-endorsed & FREE)

    Working-with-perpetrators, trauma-informed-practice, diversity-&-inclusivity, supportive-involved-families, decision-making-capacity

    The DFFH, Western Health, the Bouverie Centre & the Integrated Model of Care for responding to suspected Elder Abuse project (IMoC) are providing four distinct advanced practice training modules, which may be completed in any order.

    These advanced practice Elder Abuse training modules relate to:

    1. Inclusivity & trauma-informed-practice

    2. Involving supportive-family

    3. Engaging safely with alleged perpetrator/s

    4. Decision-making-capacity concerns.

    It is recommended that participants undertake the level 1 module first (Elder Abuse Prevention and Response), but this not essential for experienced clinicians who may progress directly to the advanced practice modules. Enquiries to:- WH Elder Abuse Liaison Officer (Carla Wilkie) on 0423 842 103 or elderabuseenquiries@wh.org.au

  • Education & Learning: Short Course Enrolments Available On Welearn!

    OTHER COURSES:

    • Invasive Lines & Cannulation: Face to face dates are currently not available due to COVID-19 restrictions. Advertised dates are for Bank-Pool Nursing Staff, Radiology and Medical. All ward nursing staff are to book in a time with their ward educator.
    • Resuscitation Mandatory Competencies: BLS sessions are recommencing in the near future. There is a large backlog of training to get through after the past two years and we still have to be mindful of COVID safe guidance. If you can arrange an assessment with your local instructor or educator this should be done in the first instance. Resus educators are contacting managers to arrange local sessions for individual teams. ‘Blitz months’ for casual nursing staff and medical staff will commence soon.
    • Microsoft Office Courses: various courses and ZOOM dates are available for enrolment via Welearn.
