Today marks 12 months since our amalgamation with the former Djerriwarrh Health Services, now known as our Bacchus Marsh, Melton and Caroline Springs campuses.
Today is a day where I hope we all can take a moment to acknowledge the work done and celebrate the opportunities this amalgamation has already provided in such a short time, for the people of the West.
As we continue to explore the opportunities this amalgamation creates, it is also a time to reflect on what we have achieved so far through waves of COVID and change. A number of divisions have now started merging their clinical services, and a significant suite of work has occurred in the transition of our non-clinical support services as well.
As I often say, we are all responsible for providing Best Care and, by working together, we can achieve this for our communities. A massive vote of thanks to all our staff who continually demonstrate their dedication, openness and collegiality to make this happen.
It has been a very busy and fulfilling journey to date, and, whilst we still have more to do, I am confident we will continue to realise the benefits of the amalgamation both now and into the future.
I have been humbled with the welcoming and can-do attitudes of all staff and consider the collective ‘One Western Health’ incredibly lucky to be working towards a shared goal of delivering Best Care for our fast expanding community.
Congratulations and thank you to you all on this significant milestone. Keep up the great work.
